How to Season a Grill
Learn how to use your Cedar Creek Sculptures grill so you can begin cooking delicious recipes on it!
First, stack your firewood and light a fire to heat up your griddle. Allow it to burn off the residual oils for about 20 to 30 minutes.
Next, wipe off the surface with a paper towel and apply a food safe, high temperature cooking oil to the griddle such as coconut oil or canola oil. Allow the oil to cook off. Then repeat this process 2 or 3 more times until the griddle surface changes to a bluish-black color.
Now, you’ll want to add your charcoal and let the coals sit for about 10 minutes to get to high heat.
After the charcoal is heated, it’s time to cook! Your Cedar Creek Sculptures grill has various fire zones. Place your food closer to the center for higher-temperature cooking and toward the outer edges for medium-temperature cooking.
After your meals are done cooking, it’s time to clean your griddle and leave it ready for your next cook. You can take a paper towel or metal spatula and wipe down the surface, putting any residue in the center fire pit.
Next, empty the ash tray located on the side of your cooker to remove debris.
That’s it! We hope you enjoy your grilling experience!
